Washington State is leading the way for enterprising companies to prosper. The state ranks at the top in categories that define business vitality, development capacity and competitiveness.
The state’s marketplace may best be characterised as an “idea economy”, a place where concepts become reality. When you do business in Washington State, you are in good company: Microsoft, Nintendo, Starbucks, Costco, Boeing, Amazon. com, Nordstrom, Nextel, and Weyhaeuser, to name a few.
It’s all here: lower operating costs and room to accommodate future expansions. Multiple business tools are available to meet your needs, including assistance for manufacturing, research and development, high-tech, and others. Incentives can be used to offset facilities, equipment, workforce, training and other expenses. You will experience no state corporate income tax, no state inventory tax, no state personal income tax and no state tax on interest, dividends or capital gains.
Washington boasts a sophisticated infrastructure of deep-water ports, international air capacity and world-class business services that make it a major centre for international commerce and continental trans-shipment. The dollar volume of manufactured goods sold to foreign markets has consistently kept us ranked in the top five highest exporting states nationally, and number one on a per capita basis.
Workforce is typically a company’s linchpin. The state’s labour force consistently ranks among the top five nationally, based on education, productivity and experience.
Washington State is located in the northwest corner of the continental US. It shares a border with Canada and is bounded by the Pacific Ocean. The state is strategically positioned equidistant between Europe and Asia Pacific. Its geographic location offers expeditious movement of goods and services.
